Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. Each Wednesday you get to highlight a book that your really looking forward to. This week I’ve chosen another of my most anticipated reads of 2017:
To Be Published May 16, 2017 by Ecco
Since We Fell follows Rachel Childs, a former journalist who, after an on-air mental breakdown, now lives as a virtual shut-in. In all other respects, however, she enjoys an ideal life with an ideal husband. Until a chance encounter on a rainy afternoon causes that ideal life to fray. As does Rachel’s marriage. As does Rachel herself.
Sucked into a conspiracy thick with deception, violence, and possibly madness, Rachel must find the strength within herself to conquer unimaginable fears and mind-altering truths. By turns heart- breaking, suspenseful, romantic, and sophisticated, Since We Fell is a novel of profound psychological insight and tension. It is Dennis Lehane at his very best.
I’m so excited to see what Dennis Lehane as in store for us with his first novel since World Gone By, which if you’ve read that one you know is VERY different than this new one seems to be. Doesn’t this sound so mysterious…I love chance encounters gone wrong. It really doesn’t matter to me what Dennis Lehane writes….I’m reading it!! Can’t wait…
Happy Reading!
Profound psychological insight.. sounds a really good novel to me! Also the promise of a mix of heartbreak and suspense sounds promising, it means the characters are complex and multi-layered,just what I like. Great choice!

Thanks Inge! And if you haven’t read Lehane, he writes tremendously complex characters, usually very flawed but very layered. I just love his writing:)

I’m glad I was able to put it on your radar Diana:) If you haven’t read Dennis Lehane this new one sounds good it would be a great place to start. Or I always recommend Mystic River also. He writes many different types of stories.

This does sound different from what I think of as ‘typical’ Lehane, though I’ve read very little of him. Sounds a good premise though – I’ll be keen to hear what you think of it!
